The tl;dr is that I need to write, and I want to share it. Writing is essential for my mental health and I take great pride in expressing myself in a certain way. I would never use AI to write* because writing requires a thinking muscle that I don't want to atrophy. Also, even if the breadth of human experience could be captured by a machine, what would be the point? We're on this planet to connect with each other, and while I'm happy to use the internet to facilitate connections, I want the connections to be as authentic to me as possible. There's enough AI slop in the world, so I'll keep this page clean.
the technical details
After my server that hosted my previous blog crashed, I officially switched over to a Digital Garden via Obsidian. Fortunately I was already planning the switch when it crashed, but as per usual necessity was the mother of the invention of this site.
Beyond the standard plugin, I have several custom components that allow me to add a custom grid, light/dark modes, RSS feed, lightbox photos, postitos, and more. In a surprise to exactly no one, I have many opinions on the way things should be. This website is a labor of neuroticisms and bottled up emotions.
